📥 Backup & Export

The ⬇️ Export (.json) button saves a complete snapshot of your channels, settings, and full radio image to a single .json file — the safest way to back up before any major programming change, and the format the family shares between members. ⬆️ Import (.json) fully restores from any saved .json backup, including one shared by another family member (it replaces your current channels and settings). If you prefer third-party software, ⬇️ CHIRP CSV exports your channels for CHIRP: because CHIRP does not list the AR-5RM under its own name, read the radio in CHIRP using model UV-17Pro, import this CSV via File → Import, then write back selecting model 5RM.

📥 Backup & Export

The ⬇️ Export (.json) button saves a complete snapshot of your channels, settings, and full radio image (firmware GMRS+ 0.22.4) to a single .json file — the safest way to back up before flashing new firmware or making major changes, and the format the family shares between members. ⬆️ Import (.json) fully restores from any saved .json backup, including one shared by another family member (it replaces your current channels and settings). For third-party tools, ⬇️ CHIRP CSV exports your channels in a format readable by UVMOD and UVTools FRL (both run in Chrome); CHIRP does not officially support the UV-K5(8), so for the simplest workflow use the ↓ Read and ↑ Write buttons above to program the radio directly.

Important: program this radio with one of the family's CH340 cables — the cable that shipped in the GM-5RH box does not pass data.

The Master Channel List is the one true source for every channel. Different radios hold different numbers of channels, so you can filter the list down to just the ones you want to manage. All shows every channel with full programming details; the other tabs are filtered views of that same list — grouped by type (Repeaters, Simplex), service (Public Safety, Aviation), or set (*RS, Family). The same channel can appear under more than one tab, but it's always one channel — no duplicate copies. Some tabs add a dropdown to narrow things further.

Shared channel updates

These channels came from the family Master List and have changed. Accept an update to apply it to your radio, or keep your own version (which unlinks it).

Distribute channels

Copy the selected Master List channels into your radios' configs. Channels already on a radio are refreshed in place; new ones go into free slots. Nothing is sent to a radio until you ↑ Write it afterward.
